Health Service Delivery Framework Development,
Apunipima Cape York Health Council (Sept-Dec 2007)
JTA has been working closely with Apunipima Cape
York Health Council to develop an overarching planning
framework for health service delivery to Cape York
communities. JTA also reviewed the Cape York Peninsula
Substance Abuse Strategy.
Sanap Wantaim PNG - Australia HIV and AIDS Program,
AusAID (2007-2010, A27m)
"Sanap Wantaim na strongim sapot long daunim HIV na
AIDS (Stand together and strongly support decreasing HIV
and AIDS)" JTA supports the Sanap Wantaim PNG-Australia HIV and
AIDS Program as the contracted Implementing Service
Provider (ISP). As the ISP, JTA assists with the planning
and mobilisation of Sanap Wantaim activities, sources
technical assistance, provides logistical support and
deployee services, financial management and procurement.
Earthquake and Tsunami Emergency Support Project, Health Sub-Project (Package 29), Asian Development Bank (2006-2007, A1.4m)
JTAI is providing primarily national administrative and finance positions to staff the project implementation unit (PIU) for the ETESP Health Sub Project. The PIU supports the technical Advisers engaged to improve basic health care for the vulnerable and underserved and to improve the health delivery system in Banda Aceh and Nias in the wake of the devastating tsunami and earthquakes.
Papua New Guinea Capacity Building Service Centre (CBSC), AusAID (2005-2010, A$70m)
JTAI manages this major nationwide capacity building program, with approximately 80 national and international advisers working with the National Department of Health, provinces and hospitals to build the capacity and competencies of health professionals, strengthen the services provided by health organisations and improve the country's health systems. The Centre is developing and monitoring innovative approaches to capacity development.
Fiji Health Sector Improvement Program (FHSIP), AusAID (2004-2008, A$20m)
In partnership with AusAID and the Fijian Ministry of Health, JTAI is working to develop and deliver quality health services for the people of Fiji. JTAI provides technical advisers and manages an imprest account for the funding of program-supported activities, including rural and public health, clinical services, health information, management, and governance.
Solomon Islands Ministry of Health Institutional Strengthening Project (SIHISP), AusAID (2001-2007, A$20m)
JTAI is working with the Solomon Islands Ministry of Health to strengthen the management and delivery of health services throughout the country. Advisers are placed in Honiara and throughout the provinces, providing support in a number of areas such as primary health care, radio communications, hospital management and infrastructure and design.
Samoa Health Project, AusAID, (2001-2006, A$10m)
JTAI has been working in Samoa since 2001 on a significant institutional reform program. Project activities have included strengthening health planning and policy development, hospital management, integrated community health services, non-communicable diseases, health promotion and health information systems.
Health Assistance Rehabilitation - Aceh Program (HARAP), AusAID (2005-2007, A$12.6m)
JTAI is the Managing Contractor for this Program which is working to rebuild health services and facilities throughout Aceh and other affected areas of Indonesia. The program is providing support to the Government of Indonesia in four key areas: Health Workforce Training; Operational and Strategic Management Support; Clinical Support Services; Assistance to Zainoel Abidin Hospital in Banda Aceh.
Hospital Management and Environmental and Public Health Services, Regional Assistance Mission to the Solomon Islands (RAMSI), (2004-2007)
JTAI provides hospital management and environmental and public health services to the RAMSI personnel based in Honiara and outer islands.
Hospital Management and Redevelopment, Ok Tedi Mining Ltd, PNG, (2004-2007)
JTAI provides expatriate clinical services and hospital management for the Tabubil Hospital which services mine employees and surrounding communities. JTAI has also overseen the design and implementation of substantial redevelopments to the hospital, including construction and refurbishment and identification and procurement of medical equipment.
JTAI has also been working with OTML in the strengthening of its public health programs, including HIV/AIDs, sexually transmitted infections, tuberculosis and malaria. JTAI also oversees the vector control program for Tabubil.
